Abstract :
The multi-radio access capability in heterogeneous networks presents significant gains both from the system level and the end user level. This paper presents the cooperative transmission models by using multiple available interfaces combined with the specific multi-radio scenarios, and introduces the data scheduling mechanism which is composed of flow-level and packet-level scheduling. The data scheduling algorithms namely ldquopolicy-based priority queue scheduling - PB-PQSrdquo and ldquopolicy-based fair-queue scheduling - PB-FQSrdquo are proposed for the optimization of resource utilization, while ensuring acceptable QoS provision to the end users. The data transmission gains by using the cooperative transmission and optimized data scheduling algorithms are validated in the simulation platform. The basic conclusion can be drawn that the coordinated use of different radio access capabilities can enhance the data transmission performance and improve the service experience for end users and reform the system capacities.
