Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. A novel ozonizer has been developed using a high frequency surface discharge and a high purity Ti-Si-Al ceramic catalyst as its dielectric component. An ac exciting voltage of 4-6 kV (peak to peak), which is adjustable from 0.6 kHz to 10 kHz, is applied between the electrodes to produce a stable and silent discharge for ozone generation. As a result, the ozonizer can easily produce ozone having concentration of 50-60 g/m/sup 3/ and power efficiency of 180 g/kWh for oxygen without using a special enrichment means. Experimental conditions are oxygen gas temperature of 20/spl deg/C, inner reactor pressure of 1.6 atm, and flow rate of 2 L/min. Experimental facility consist of oxygen cooling device, pressure controller, etc.
