Abstract :
In this paper an overview of the dry storage facilities for nuclear waste material is presented. A security related IAEA - International Atomic Energy Agency - request for dry storage installations has been done. Solutions based on different technologies are taken into account. A comparison between GPS, RFId and UWB potential application for nuclear facilities is described. Finally the motivations for an UWB-based sealing solution are highlighted opening the research future works to an innovative multi-path communication protocol design and development.
