Abstract :
Using a previously derived closed-form expression for the distribution of the phase angle between two Rayleigh vectors perturbed by Gaussian noise and intersymbol interference, the authors compute and compare the bit error rates (BER) of narrowband π/4-DQPSK and conventional DQPSK systems. They also provide physical explanations on the effects of Doppler frequency spread and IF filter bandwidth on the BER which are not available in previous publications
