Abstract :
This study presents the principles behind a fiber parametric amplifier (FPA) operation. This includes the discussion of parametric amplification, four-wave mixing, phase conjugation, wavelength conversion, and optical regeneration due to gain saturation. FPA applications for quantum-optical systems and optical processing are also discussed
