Abstract
The paper describes the basic preliminary methodology for designing optimal flexible process sequencing using SFC (sequential function charts) applied in fieldbus management. The article is concerned with the searching task of finding the order of function block execution in order to minimize the execution cycle. The tools selected for work development are based and implemented on a well structured methodology to find the optimal path through the network under an established performance criterion. Such tools deal with the IEC-848 standard and dynamic programming
