Abstract :
In this paper data bedding and data tiling based on quadtree of Diamonds is used to organize the spherical DEM data. The DEM data is subdivided into different resolution layer according to the quadtree partition of Diamonds in horizontal direction, while in the same layer the DEM data is organized as Diamonds. Within each Diamonds the elevation data are stored in a row major order, and each Diamonds is libelled and indexed using linear quadtree Morton code according to its location.
