Abstract
This paper identifies a representative subset of operations functions for broadband ATM networks and services and describes the functions in terms of a multilayer model. Potential physical operations architecture alternatives based on this multi-layer model are presented. The focus of this paper is on configuration management functions for early availability broadband ATM networks and services consisting of broadband switching systems (BSSs) that perform ATM cell switching in support of permanent virtual connection (PVC) based services
