  • Abstract
    This paper studies the development of portable electronic reader for detection of formaldehyde gas sensor. This electronic reader can detect the level of formaldehyde concentration, which later translated into voltage level by using PIC 18F4580 microcontroller. Result shows that high concentration of chemical gas, which decoded to high voltage signal can be displayed on screen reader. Three level of detection is set in the programming i.e. reject, quarantine and low-level voltage conditions which translated into high, medium and low concentration of gas respectively. Finally, the result detected by portable electronic reader is correlated well with real-time PC based multi-meter detection.
