Abstract
In this research, various solvents were selected for process of dispersing of multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). The MWCNTs were sonicated in three different solvents; Chitosan, SDS and IPA. Sonication was performed for an hour for achievable homogenous dispersion in the solvent. This study shows that the solvent was successfully stabilized in surfactant CNT dispersion and indicates that achievable dispersion of MWCNTs corresponds to the maximum UV-Vis absorbance of the solution. The optical properties of MWCNTs with different solvents have been investigated by UV-Vis spectroscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
