Abstract
In this work the problem of hiding the heterogeneity and distribution of e-learning systems in global learning networks is analyzed. Ideally, the learner should be able to access all the virtual universities and e-learning systems in a similar way. Further, the learning network should: provide an effective and easily used learners´ interface. Achieving these goals set requirements on the architectures of learning networks and on the metadata attached to learning objects.
