Abstract :
This paper proposes a multiple-capture receiver for a centralized direct-sequence/spread-spectrum multiple-access (DS/SSMA) packet radio system with common spreading code, which allows two or more simultaneous transmissions to succeed on the single code. The multiple-capture receiver designed here shows great promise foe practical implementation both from the performance and complexity points of view. At the link-level, basic equations for the collision free probability and the expected number of packets captured at the receiver are derived for theoretical evaluations of multiple-capture performance. Our results demonstrate that the proposed multiple-capture receiver improves significantly system performance in terms of the average packet captures
