Abstract
Over the last 10 years, we´ve learned to plan online documents carefully, write succinctly, design for delivery on the screen rather than the page, and use images and other media with restraint and skill. Now the large installed base of Palm and Pocket PC information appliances and the growing number of Web-enabled wireless devices impose even greater restrictions on those who design help and Web content This paper examines the problems and opportunities for technical communicators who must deal with very small screens, low resolution, and user environments that require us to rewrite the rules for online document design and delivery
