Abstract :
We have developed eight online courses that teach how to write e-mail messages, letters, reports and proposals without having an external instructor evaluate the participants´ work. Doing so, however, has posed significant problems: we could not simply take pages of existing text and place them online, the screens had to be carefully designed so there would be a stream of interactivity between the course participants and the program; participants had to be routed through different learning loops to accommodate their different learning capabilities, and the cost had to be kept low so the program would be within reach of a wide range of potential users. After eleven months of concentrated effort, the courses are now online and users are accessing them
