  • Abstract
The classical architecture for an orthogonally multiplexed QAM system consists of a DFT processor followed by a polyphase filterbank, both working at the rate of individual channels. The paper presents a new architecture consisting of (a) serial-to-parallel conversion, (b) a single polyphase filter, (c) a multitone chirp modulator, and (d) a final equalizer. The overall complexity is of the same order as the classical solution with a different sharing between the memoryless and filtering parts
