Abstract :
This paper introduces a modular multivariable dynamic matrix controller (DMC). Using the modular stratified structure, it assigns the goals into each of the control module according their importance, and uses a stair-like control strategy to avoid the complex calculation of model predictive control, not only simplifying the calculation but also making it more robust. We apply the controller to the atmospheric pyrochemical furnace for temperature control.
