Abstract :
Simultaneous all-optical frequency up- and down-conversions of an optical IF signal and an optical RF signal to the upper and lower frequency band, respectively, using a single SOA-MZI without serious crosstalk were experimentally demonstrated and a concept of cost-effective full-duplex WDM radio-over-fiber (RoF) link utilizing a simultaneous up/downconversion is proposed. The experimental results show a potential of the proposed scheme for use in a cost-effective full-duplex WDM RoF link without performance degradation.
