Abstract
The distribution of 46 acentric bismuthates over different crystal systems and space formations of Bi-O polyhedrons have been revealed. The dependence of polyhedron space formation on stoichiometric ratio n(O)/n(Bi) in the compound is established. Individual (Bi-O) octahedrons are found for n(O)/n(Bi) > 5 (and >3 for low coordinated bismuth), chains and layers are revealed for the range 2.0-5.0. Framework formations are possible at n(O)/n(Bi)<;3.5.
