Abstract :
The response of the connector of the radiating elements in antenna arrays greatly influences the behavior of the overall system. In this work we present a novel yet simple procedure for the effective extraction of the connector response. Our method allows the calculation of the exact response of the connector by means of the solution of a linear system of equations obtained from the measurement of the impedance matrix of a test array and its simulated value. Once the connector response has been obtained in a simple test case the connector model can be used in the analysis and synthesis of a wide class of problems.
