Abstract
This paper introduces an algorithm enabling the assessment of the economic penetration levels of photovoltaic (PV) array area into hybrid energy system. The economic penetration level is that which achieves the maximum permissible reduction in the kWh cost of hybrid energy system. The algorithm is based on evaluation of optimized unit cost with other significant parameters. According to the daily electrical energy demand, the required generating system is designed with different penetration levels of PV. For each combination, the optimized unit cost is evaluated. The combinations are compared with each other and the optimal one is determined.
