Abstract :
The paper presents technological concept of the broadband over power line for last mile transmission of broadband signal to end user location. An overview of a pilot project in Kolkata, India was presented. The author also emphasized that this technology can be used to assist the utility companies by adding intelligent capabilities to electric grids.
