Abstract :
This paper describes a novel starting method for the sensorless salient-pole brushless DC motors. In this method the rotor initial position is obtained with the initiative detection of phase inductance, and it succeeded in the brushless DC motors starting. The relations between phase inductance and the rotor position, and the factors affecting phase inductance are discussed
