Abstract :
A metric is developed which specifies a critically damped response for a loaded RLC transmission line. The metric is a function of various circuit and input-signal parameters which are set so that the transient response approaches the steady state asymptote as rapidly as possible. Interesting connections to an existing termination metric are shown
