Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. Suspended particulate matter (SPM) from diesel engine is one of the causes of environmental pollution. Corona discharge device used in the electric precipitator can be applied to remove SPM from exhaust gases also. So far, we have been studying a new corona discharge method in which the SPM is absorbed in oil above a positive plate electrode and the experimental results were presented at the ICOPS 2002. In the present paper, we measured the SPM removal rates at several points along the exhaust gas flow in the device and analyzed the SPM removal characteristics.
