Abstract :
Permanent magnet linear synchronous motors (PM-LSM) have been developed for factory automation, transportation application and so on. By means of flux-weakening control in a PM-LSM drive, the motor parameters vary because of magnetic saturation and as a result, the control performances are affected by the magnetic saturation. In this paper, we examine the effect of the interior permanent magnet arrangement for wide speed operation and the effects of magnetic saturation are examined. The control system considering the magnetic saturation is proposed. The performances of the proposed control system are examined by simulations
