Abstract :
Electrical energy is an essential ingredient for the development of a nation. The demand for it is increasing due to the utilization of more and more electrical appliances. To reduce the gap between supply and demand, power generating plants of all types are being installed, even then the gap is continuously increasing due to the depletion of natural resources. Optimal utilization of available energy resources is the only option left. To overcome this problem, the concept of DSM has emerged in power systems planning and management. This paper describes Fuzzy logic and Peak Clipping & Valley Filling and Differential Tariff based on DSM strategy to control the power consumption and maintain perfect cooling for a longer period of a water cooler. Simulation results are resented to show the effectiveness of the proposed DSM strategy for energy conservation.
