Abstract :
The authors present an active harmonic noise equalizer (AHNE), which can either amplify or attenuate acoustic narrowband noise. The output of the AHNE system contains narrowband noise components the amplitudes of which can be linearly and arbitrarily controlled by adjusting the gain parameter of the equalizer, thus providing the desired noise shaping capability. Each single-frequency active noise equalizer (SFANE) consists of a sinusoidal reference input, a gain parameter, and two adaptive weights. A novel pseudo error minimum method is developed to use the least mean square algorithm effectively. The transfer function of the SFANE is presented and the behavior of the system is analyzed. Simulations were conducted to verify the effectiveness of the algorithm and the validity of the analysis.<>
