Abstract :
We demonstrate leaky-mode coupled vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) fabricated using a deposited dielectric distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) rather than epitaxial regrowth. The emission spectra below and above threshold are compared to a model in order to determine the effective index step.
