Abstract :
This paper presents a new method of modifying transformer leakage inductance and winding resistance, which are the main parameters in switch mode power supplies (SMPSs) design. The effect of these parasitics in a single-switch-forward SMPS is scrutinized with simulations. Finally, the results of the simulations are applied to the design of a single switch forward SMPS with an output of 1300 watts for which the results are provided. Noteworthy other works have reported output levels of only 150 to 350 watts when applying this topology
