  • Abstract
    A theoretical overview of the phase centre and its definition is presented in this work. Taking into account classical geometry, where the shape of the phase-front was observed, different problems and peculiarities of the phase centre were identified and discussed. The intention of this paper is to demonstrate a straightforward method for the determination of the phase centre in 3D by using the Nelder-Mead optimising algorithm. The method has been tested on simulated examples of dipole and patch antennas.
