Abstract
The paper investigates the rotor configuration impact on asynchronous generator wind turbine operating characteristics. Two different rotor structures based on solid iron and copper cage structures respectively are considered. Field analysis is used to determine adequate equivalent circuit parameters for the wind turbine electric part. The generator behavior under both fault and normal operating conditions is examined and discussed
