Abstract :
A top-loaded monopole antenna (TLMA) has been developed for an antenna distribution system used in in-building mobile communication. Impedance matching of the low-profile TLMA is achieved by using oblique shorting pins. The bandwidth and gain characteristics of the TLMA are simulated over infinite and finite ground planes, and the effect of the side wall at the edge of the ground plane is clarified. The simulation results are verified using the measured input impedance and radiation patterns.
