Abstract :
This paper presents a methodology for data exchange between a finite element method program and a system simulator. With this methodology, it is possible to simulate electrical machines, circuits and control systems together in time domain. An interface is developed between FCSMEK, a program for 2-dimensional finite element analysis, and SIMULINK. The implementation is based on both intermediate files and direct transfer of variables. The intermediate file approach is used in the initialization phase or at the end of the simulation, but during the time stepping analysis, variables are exchanged directly between the programs
