Abstract :
Proposed is a low complexity inter-block interference (IBI) and inter-chip interference (ICI) cancelation method for direct-sequence ultra-wideband (DS-UWB) system without cyclic prefix (CP). Based on DS-UWB scheme considered by IEEE 802.15.3a standard, the group of chips formed by spreading each modulated symbol are regarded as individual frequency domain equalization (FDE) blocks. Simply by using the previous detected symbol, jointly IBI and ICI can be totally eliminated from the current block detection procedure. Compared with CP reconstruction and overlap-FDE methods, this proposed scheme has lower complexity and better approaching matched filter bound (MFB) performance.
