Abstract :
Feeder reconfiguration of the distribution system can be accomplished by changing the statuses of switches. When the distribution system topology is changed, the real power losses may be reduced. In this paper, a CSS algorithm with real number strings is applied for providing a switching operation strategy in order to solve the distribution system real power losses minimization problems. The new solutions are produced by CSS during the problems solving process. Coding and decoding schemes are proposed in this paper in order to avoid generating invalid solutions as well as improve the search efficiency when CSS searches the optimal solution. A 33-bus distribution system is tested in this paper. The simulation results show that the approach proposed in this paper is able to find the optimal solution more effectively.
