Abstract
The comfort of ankle when driving is very important on driving comfort research. The biomechanics of the foot and ankle are complex and intricately associated with each other. Gross motion of the foot is complex and occurs around three axes and on three planes. The foot is an integral mechanical part of the lower extremity necessary for a smooth and stable movement. This paper presents our experiments on driving posture from which a digital model of driving comfort has been developed. The experiment was concerned with identifying the relations between human body joint comfort and driving posture. Based on the data obtained from the experiments, we have developed a comfort analysis and calculation methods of anklebone, to be used as the guidance on the design for driving comfort.
