Abstract :
This paper is a continuation of a former paper of the authors (Vokony and Dan, 2010). The earlier paper presented the assessment of micro grids´ voltage and reactive power control. The increasing integration of intelligent energy distribution networks has to serve consumer interest. Therefore it is necessary to examine the quality of electricity supply in regard to the voltage quality as well. How is it possible to ensure the regulation in case of island operation? This paper introduces the reactive power - voltage regulation model developed and used for simulating voltage quality questions of the micro grids, and it is also shown, how to apply it for island operation assessment. A new method is presented to minimize the network loss and keep the voltage levels between the required limits. Results of the simulations are presented and the conclusions are evaluated.
