Abstract :
This paper demonstrates the influence of apex shape and spherical inclusions on emitted optical near field of apertureless microfabricated SNOM probes. Results of this study provide valuable insight into light propagation in real SNOM probes, and suggest some possibilities for refining probe design to enhance performance.
