Abstract
This paper presents the design of low cost automatic synchronizer which has a small assembly of electronic circuitry consisting of exclusively OR (XOR) gate, relays and contactor as main components. This unit is used for synchronizing Induction Motors as Generators (IMAGs). The design provides therefore a soft connection between the generators only after they are synchronized. The simplicity in its design lowers the cost and components. This synchronizer is useful to form a mini-grid with power plants using IMAGs. It is simple to operate, and thus can be useful in remote places where person without technical knowledge can operate.
