Abstract
Computer simulation and experimental investigation of reflection and transmission spectra of microwave photonic crystals, based on microstrip structures, had been performed. The case when the periodic microstrip photonic structure has an irregularity, introduced as changed permittivity of the substrate in one of the interlaced sections of the microstrip line, had been considered. The method, based on solving the reverse problem, for measurement of parameters of liquids, which plays as the irregularity in the open microwave photonic structure, had been implemented. The values of complex dielectric permittivity for several polar and non-polar liquids had been measured.
