Abstract :
We propose and demonstrate an optical-wireless testbed delivering super-broad band wired and wireless services simultaneously in an integrated radio-over-fiber (ROF) and WDM-PON access network The actual applications include transmission of a 270-Mb/s uncompressed SDTV signal and 2.5-Gb/s data channel over 25-km fiber and 10.2-m indoor wireless link exhibiting a power penalty of less than 1.5-dB. Moreover, transmission characteristics over 40-km fiber and 4.0-m air channel at variable data rates and the wireless link power budget are also investigated in the testbed environment. The results show that this hybrid system is a practical solution to deliver super-broadband services serving both stationary and mobile users.
