Abstract
This work investigates the electromagnetic interaction between pairs of Composite-Right-Left-Handed Transmission Lines (CRLHTLs). It will be shown that the specific type of electromagnetic coupling can be modelled as Right-Handed Transmission Lines (RHTLs) opening up the door to utilizing well established circuit techniques as the basis of designing coupled-line metamaterial components. Simulation and implementation of interdigital and Combline filters utilizing CRLHTLs as resonator elements have served to prove the underlying principles.
