  • Abstract
The present paper proposes a theoretical methodology for the quantification of the expected benefits from specific “smarting” interventions on the electric transmission infrastructure. More in details, after a first overview of the overall asset of the grid, a list of smarting actions will be outlined as far as a set of sensible issues from either an environmental and technical point of view. For every issue of interest, a specific Key Performance Indicator (KPI) is then defined in order to perform a comparative analysis among the different smarting actions and to rank their impact. The methodology is finally validated by means of a simulation campaign performed on a benchmark transmission network.
