  • Abstract
The spectral algorithm for simulation of circuits can be divided into the following steps: linearize circuit equations with the use of the Newton-Kantorovich approach, substitute Chebyshev expansions (for all variables) to linearized equations, construct the equations for the expansion coefficients, solve the resulting equations, evaluate the variables (i.e. perform inverse Chebyshev transformations) needed in monitoring convergence and reiterate if convergence is not achieved. The algorithm was implemented in the form of a prototype program to test its basic features. The results of testing were positive and it was decided to begin work on development of a simulator. The simulator is coded in C++ and its prototype version called “SPEC” is near completion
