Abstract :
In this paper, we have proposed a new Image-based Multi-scale Subdivisional Expression Model (IMSEM) based on Global Subdivision Gird (GSG). It creates a new approach that enables the common man using image itself to express geographic objects, rather than overlying a vector layer. To demonstrate this approach, the Geosubdivision System has been developed which shows that the IMSEM can express geographic objects efficiently. Experimental results indicate that using IMSEM to express geographic objects can save the storage space significantly.
