Abstract :
We present the first 40Gb/s widely-tunable EAM/laser transmitters demonstrating 1.0-1.5VPtoPdrive, low-chirp, and under 0.5dB of power penalty for transmission through 2.3km of fiber. A robust quantum-well-intermixing technique was employed for the realization of these devices.
