Abstract :
This paper presents the concept of a novel reconfigurable switched T-network type phase shifter that is selectively configured in CPW as either a high pass or low pass filter. This functionality is achieved solely through the use of one T-network and three switch elements. In the absence of a suitable MEMS fabrication process, the concept is demonstrated through the realisation of two MMIC circuits that represent the two states of a 90° phase shifter at 30 GHz. The circuits illustrate that a reconfigurable CPW phase shifter can be designed that is significantly smaller than usual.
