Abstract :
In order to increase the capacity of next-generation telecommunication networks, fourth generation (4G) mobile communication system, modulation and symbol rate must be optimized and channel utilization maximized. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), a technology designed to resist interference caused by a radio signal´s multiple paths is a potential candidate for the physical layer of 4G mobile systems. Blind channel estimation is a recent class of adaptive algorithms which is able to exploit characteristics of the transmitted signal and do not require training sequences can be implemented in OFDM wireless system to obtain best performance. The channel shortening design improves bit error rate (BER) after signal noise ratio (SNR) above 20 dB
