Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. Main duties of an azimuthally varying field-type MC-50 cyclotron installed at Korea Cancer Center Hospital (KCCH) were neutron therapy and medical radioactive isotope production. Since mid 1990´s, many attempts have been made to conduct basic nuclear experiments such as in-beam gamma-ray spectroscopy, neutron detection, and charged particle spectroscopy. Recently, an additional target room was established and a new beam line was added to purposely conduct these nuclear experiments. The new beam line from the main switching magnet to the new target room is deviated 52 degrees from the zero-degree line of the current neutron therapy line. It consists of one switching magnet, one steering magnet and quadrupole magnets. We designed the new beam line based on a beam optical calculation with the TRANSPORT code for optimal determination of a transfer matrix of the beam line.
