Abstract :
User plane protocol in Iub interface, known as framing protocol (FP), is responsible for carrying the data streams for both dedicated channel (DCH) and common channel (CCH). Different quality of services (QoS) must be guaranteed in the data stream. The real time traffics, such as video and voice, require operating system that is capable to provide deterministic and predictable scheduling mechanism. In this paper, we presented our efforts to integrate a third party FP module to the ATM MPC8260 board running vxWorks RTOS. Various practical issues with theirs solutions have been discussed in this paper. Optimization works are carried out to achieve better performance gain. We concluded this paper by suggesting the number of affordable simultaneous dynamic DCHs in our system. The results are based on the actual measurement and also numerical calculation
